ONGOING RAINS MAY CAUSE RESERVOIRS TO SPILL
Caution elevated for property owners along the Sweetwater River

At this time, Loveland Reservoir is 41 percent full and Sweetwater Reservoir is 47 percent full. Due to the record-breaking rainy season San Diego County is experiencing, the potential for one or both of the reservoirs to reach capacity and spill has increased. Depending on new storms, the reservoirs could spill as soon as this weekend.

If spilling occurs, flooding potential in the Sweetwater River valley is greater, and property owners downstream should take precautions.

Sweetwater Authority will send media updates as needed. The latest reservoir conditions will also be posted at www.sweetwater.org, or call (619) 420-1413.
