On Wednesday, September 24, the Sweetwater Authority Governing Board declared a Drought Level 2.

Sweetwater Riding & Hiking Trail reopens after temporary closure
Sweetwater Authority, the County of San Diego, and USFWS have worked cooperatively to reopen the trail, which was previously closed to resolve protection of environmentally sensitive vernal pools.

2013 Water Quality Report Now Available Online
Last year the water delivered by Sweetwater Authority met all USEPA and CA Department of Public Health drinking water health standards.

Safe to drink, but algae blooms may affect taste and odor of water
County residents may have noticed an earthy or musty taste and odor to their water. This is due to imported raw water from Lake Skinner in Riverside County affected by blooms of algae, however the water is safe to drink.
