The Sweetwater Authority governing board, or board of directors, is composed of seven members. Five directors are elected by division by the citizens of the South Bay Irrigation District. Two directors are appointed by the Mayor of National City, subject to City Council confirmation. See the map below to find your district representative. The governing board establishes policies and procedures for Sweetwater Authority operations.
Sweetwater Authority’s governing board meetings are held on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month. Meetings are open to the public, and agendas are posted the Friday prior to each scheduled meeting.
