The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted our community in unprecedented ways. Sweetwater Authority understands that in challenging times like these, our customers may be facing financial hardships, and we’re here to help.

Payment plans

Behind on your water bill? The Authority is offering customers payment plans for past due amounts. Give our Customer Service team a call at (619) 420-1413, or fill out the Contact Us form to get more information about plan options.

Financial assistance resources

Renters in need of assistance to pay past due rent and utilities may benefit from the following programs:

City of National City and Bonita residents: Renters in need of assistance to pay past due rent and utilities may benefit from the County of San Diego Emergency Rent and Utilities Assistance Program. Information and applications are available at www.sdhcd.org or by calling (858) 694-4801.

City of Chula Vista residents: The City of Chula Vista’s Emergency Rental Assistance Program provides payment assistance for renters financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic who need help paying rent and utilities. To find out more and apply for the program, visit www.chulavistaerap.com or call (619) 271-1805.

Resource guide

The Utility Bill Assistance & Resource Guide (PDF) provides important information on how to contact local utility providers to inquire about flexible payment options and programs that may be available to customers needing assistance paying their utility bills.
