Sweetwater Authority (Authority) is currently offering two contest opportunities for customers. Both the annual High School Photo Contest and WaterSmart Landscape Contest are now open for entries.

“The Governing Board is proud to offer these yearly contest opportunities to customers as a way to celebrate the importance of our most precious resource - water,” said Board Chair Alejandra Sotelo-Solis. “These contests further the Authority’s goal of serving our community through education and outreach.”

High School Photo Contest

The Authority’s annual High School Photo Contest challenges students to creatively showcase and celebrate through photography the many ways we use water in daily life. The contest is open to all students who live or attend school in the Authority’s service area, and offers cash prizes up to $400 for winning entries.

The photo contest deadline is March 18, 2022. Contest rules and entry forms are available at

WaterSmart Landscape Contest

The annual regional WaterSmart Landscape Contest is an opportunity for residential water agency customers to showcase their best, water-wise landscapes that create more beauty with less water. All Authority customers who have transformed their yards to be more water efficient are encouraged to enter the contest for the chance to win a $250 gift certificate.

The landscape contest deadline is May 13, 2022. More information on how to enter is available at
