[ARCHIVED] Slight discoloration of water not a public health concern

Glass of water image

Sweetwater Authority (Authority) is aware that the area around Euclid Avenue in National City is experiencing slight discoloration in the water we are currently providing. The slight discoloration is due to naturally occurring minerals in our water supplies. We want to assure you that this is not a public health issue, and the water is safe to drink.

Crews have identified a pipeline leak as the cause of discoloration and are working on repairs. Repairs are expected to be completed later this evening.

A water tanker is available on 2412 Norfolk Street for those customers experiencing water outages or discolored water.

For more information on discolored water, visit https://www.sweetwater.org/FAQ.aspx?TID=19

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we work to make repairs.

Please contact our Water Quality Department at (619) 420-1413 if you have any additional questions or need further information.
