On September 26, 2023, Sweetwater Authority (Authority) will hold the first meeting of its newly-formed Community Advisory Work Group. The group offers Authority stakeholders a platform to actively engage in the projects and initiatives of the water agency. By providing input, participants will help shape the future of their community’s water services and infrastructure.

The group is open to residents, ratepayers, property owners and members of the business community in the Authority’s service area.

The inaugural meeting will serve as a kick-off to the group, with participants being asked to share which projects should be slated for discussion at future meetings. Subsequent meetings will be held monthly on the fourth Tuesday of the month. Participants can join any meeting without the obligation to attend every session.

The group will discuss one project at a time before ultimately providing recommendations to the Authority’s Governing Board.

“The Community Advisory Work Group aims to foster community conversation around upcoming agency initiatives,” said Board Chair Hector Martinez. “By getting stakeholder input at the ground level, the Authority will be better able to incorporate important feedback into our project planning, and in doing so, better serve our ratepayers.”

Full details on the work group, including details on the September 26 meeting and required RSVP, are available at www.sweetwater.org/workgroup.
