Water quality information and updates

Water glass on table

On August 28, 2018, Sweetwater Authority (Authority) started treating a 50/50 blend of imported and local reservoir water. Some customers may notice a slight change in the taste and odor of their water due to this change in water sources.

Occasionally, naturally-occurring minerals and algae in the water the Authority treats, or disruptions in the Authority’s distribution system, can cause changes in the taste, odor and color of the water we provide our customers. These changes are not a public health issue. The Authority ensures that the water we provide to our customers consistently meets all state and federal safety standards and remains safe to drink.

For more information on the color and odor of your water, see FAQs here.
