On May 2, 2018 Sweetwater Authority’s (Authority) Governing Board kicked off the start of the agency’s first project of its five-year capital improvement plan with a commemorative pipe-signing at its Board meeting.
Board members began the meeting by adopting a resolution to declare the week of May 21 as “National Public Works Week.” The resolution calls upon all citizens and civic organizations to acquaint themselves with the issues involved in providing our public works and to recognize the substantial contributions that public works officials make every day to our health, safety, comfort, and quality of life.
The Governing Board then convened at its Authority’s Administration building to sign a section of pipe that will be installed this month. With more than 70 projects in the capital improvement plan, the Authority proactively invests in the water system to ensure a reliable and safe water future for its customers.
