Sweetwater Authority (Authority) announced a water efficiency partnership with Olivewood Gardens and Learning Center (Olivewood) at its January 9 Governing Board meeting. This partnership will allow the Authority and Olivewood to expand their outreach efforts and promote the safety, value, and efficiency of tap water.

“The Authority is very excited about this new partnership with Olivewood Gardens,” said Authority Board Chair Steve Castaneda. “The Authority’s Board values Olivewood’s contribution to fostering good health and wellness in our community, and looks forward to working together to share our important message with their visitors.”

Olivewood Gardens is a historic property located in National City.  Olivewood’s mission is to build healthy families and a healthy environment through hands-on gardening, hands-on cooking, and nutrition and science-based environmental classes for students and families in National City and the County of San Diego.

Olivewood Gardens serves more than 2,500 National School District students per year though their school education program. Through this partnership, students who go through the school education program will also learn about water efficiency and the safety of tap water.
