Sweetwater Authority is excited to announce the opening of the first-ever Hydro Station at our award-winning Richard A. Reynolds Desalination Facility located in Chula Vista. The Hydro Station was created in partnership with the Chula Vista Elementary School District and Otay Water District to teach kids about the water industry and the different and exciting career paths available at agencies like Sweetwater Authority. Each child who visits the Hydro Station will get a hands-on look into what it takes to do the work Authority employees do every day.
The Authority is proud to partner with the school district on this innovative experience with the hope that it inspires the next generation of water industry leaders. Thanks to the vision and support of our Governing Board and our partners, over 4,000 students will get to experience this unique learning opportunity that will prepare them for the jobs of tomorrow.
