Work for Water Scholarship

Want a rewarding career? Work for water! The Work for Water Scholarship is available to anyone living in Sweetwater Authority’s service area interested in pursuing a career in the water industry.

Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to new or currently enrolled students at the Center for Water Studies at Cuyamaca College or another accredited college, community college or trade school with a career goal in the water industry.

Scholarship Criteria

Eligibility 

  • Scholarship is open to currently enrolled students and new students (subject to enrollment verification) at the Center for Water Studies at Cuyamaca College or another accredited college, community college or trade school with a career goal in the water industry.
  • Enrolled Units: Minimum six (6) units
  • Applicant must reside within Sweetwater Authority’s service area.
  • Scholarship is not available to Sweetwater Authority employees, their family immediate family members, or employees or immediate family members of other water agencies.

Availability

Two (2) $1,000 scholarships will be available for 2023-2024. Students may reapply for the scholarship for a lifetime maximum of $2,000.

Inchaurregui Jr. is currently attending the Center for Water Studies at Cuyamaca College in pursuit of a career as a water treatment plant operator or laboratory technician.
